North Carolina Girls Need Our Leadership. Today.
Why Say It When We Can Show It?
Watch this video highlighting the challenges we face in the US and in NC, addressing the problem TQF is attacking at ground level.
NC in Highest 30% for Teen Pregnancies
North Carolina is ranked 14 out of 51 states and the District of Columbia placing us in the top 30% for new teen pregnancies. This means that NC is one of the highest states for teen pregnancies in the US.
NC Schools at a Low in Literacy
North Carolina schools are at a low in terms of literacy by the 8th grade. NC Schools ranked 34th in the nation in reading proficiency for 8th graders.
What does this mean?
We've spent time exploring the needs of our girls in North Carolina - not only from the human needs aspect like self-esteem and confidence but from the educational aspect and self-actualization. We asked: What do they need to be at their best? That's why TQF offers life skills and practical support like college preparation, professional exposure, career exploration and social skills. This way, they are ready and willing to be change agents and catalysts to their own lives, their families and their communities.
