TQF's New Signature Dress Initiative
Background of Dress for a Queen Initiative
Since 2010, TQF has provided countless opportunities for middle and high school girls it serves to attend statewide events where girls can be exposed and see examples of adult women leading in their careers and community. Such events include: The Governor's Conference for Women, Junior League Leadership Summits, United Way Women’s Leadership Events, and a variety of corporate and community leadership conferences. For these events, girls are coached on attire, networking and professional conduct yet the challenge continues to be ensuring appropriate attire is worn by each young woman. Additionally, girls will often feel less than confident in their self-presentation if their attire isn’t comparable to the general population of guests in business professional attire. This is often due to lack of financial resources and limited access. It is important to TQF that the girls feel confident and special. As we continue to coach girls on dressing right for their body type and the importance of positive self-presentation, the need for a uniform dress has presented itself. This inspired the initiative, Operation: Dress for a Queen.
Operation: Dress for a Queen will gift a standard a-line dress designed by a professional designer, to every TQF girl that currently is in TQF’s programs across the state.
